Death Margaret Ahlgren's notes give Margarets death as either 5/8/1944 or 5/8/1945 in the Lake district. Susan Young's gedcom data gives the place of death as Keswick.

However, no deaths of a Margaret Stephenson were registered in the Cockermouth district in the 3rd quarter of 1944 or 1945. The nearest match is in the 1st qtr. of 1943 however the age given, 68, is one year too old for Margaret Stephenson nee Dykes.

Further investigation, eg; a broader search of the civil registration index, is needed to confirm when and where Margaret died.

Marriage William and Margaret married at Fawcett St. Wesleyan Chapel. The marriage was witnessed by E. Dykes & E. Stephenson.

Individual Note

Margaret & William were bombed out in Sunderland during WWII. Margaret was very ill & went to convalesce in a nursing home in Keswick but she died shortly afterwards.9
